Have you tried to change the outbound?

1. I don't think it means that only the inbound is changeable. The fare rules for a dummy booking I just did on ba.com for the same itinerary and same V fare bucket say that if you change the outbound and the first fare component is changed then the whole fare has to be re-priced and a new ticket issued.
