On codeshare operated by AS you get all the benefits of MVP except upgrades. The free bags are only when AS is the first segment. On the way back you will be charged a bag fee by AA. Sometimes AS will give you upgrade at checkin or at the gate but its not guaranteed as your not really eligible.
