As a Platinum SPG, I occaisionally use the services of my personal concierge. I try only to use him for important 'favors' ie. getting a better room/suite on a longer stay ect. Other times I just call the Platinum conseierge number. Invariably when I contact them (as I just did) I am not given any special treatment or favors. For example, I am missing a recent stay and the reply I got from "Cami" (not my usual person) was "it takes up to 2 weeks to post, just wait". I then asked about an upgrade possiblity for tonite at the Sheraton Atlanta & was again told, 'I can't do anything, it is based on availability at check in". I know I should ask for "Able", but again I don't really want to bother him with the petty stuff. I just was understand what exactly is the 'general' benefit of calling that desk?
