I stayed on the Club level last month. As a Platinum I was upgraded (without having to ask), given a large room overlooking the river and Cambridge. There was a nice selection of canapes/fruits/ snacks in the lounge with an honor bar. The lounge itself was small but the staff was extremely helpful. I do agree it is a large fairly confusing hotel on the ground floor. There is a bar on the main level (one up from the street) that seemed pretty lively for the young/chic/business crowd. I didn't really sample any of their restaurants because the area itself had a lot of good ones.
