Broken Laptop - Who is at fault?

If you are using your laptop and the person in front of you reclines their seat, catches your laptop screen, and breaks it, who is liable for the damage?

I have had quite a few close calls with my laptop as of late. One instance I had to physically push the seat off of my laptop because I was not quick enough to move it before the person in front reclined his seat.

Delta planes have an issue with the tray tables in the seat backs. They have a ledge that could catch the screen. They also have the personal screens stick out from the seat back that could also snag the screen.

Is this just my personal issue or what?

Thanks and Happy Travels!
