What I dislike more is Rogers cellphone ads right after safety announcements (!). Since when do I pay to get on a plane to watch mandatory advertisements?
It's almost as bad as US Airways, when I flew SFO-PHL-YYZ a couple years back, they played ads for US Airways Vacations for 10 minutes. Never flew US after that.

Perhaps it's the ad revenues that allow AC to continue to provide the service on a complementary basis, while most (if not all) of our counterparts are charging for it.
If not mistaken, don't believe it's an issue any longer on US. Didn't they deactivate/remove their IFE on routes other than Hawaii and International?
