Apparently I wasn't clear. I did not say that I thought a non-refundable rate should be honored for a BRG. I said the only way to potentially get a BRG honored with Hilton was to get a non-refundable rate on Priceline, etc. and match that against a non-refundable rate on Hilton. They deny all claims on Priceline, Expedia, Orbitz. etc. because they claim prepayment is required and prepayment is not required on most Hilton reservations. I pointed out that the rate on Priceline, etc. is fully refundable but Hilton did not care. They said it was not a match. They told me I needed to match against the Hilton advanced purchase rate. I told them that the Hilton advanced purchase rate is not refundable while Priceline, etc. prepayment rate is fully refundable. Again, you could not win!
