I stayed at the Calgary Cavalier 4 or 5 times this year and was generally pleased. I did have a hard time finding the gym. From their directions, you go to the second floor, go down this flight of stairs to the pool and voila, the gym is hidden away in a corner. Why didn't they say that there was an entrance next to the check-in desk?

The Saskatoon Cavalier must be one of their worst properties. It is old, the rooms are small, the furnishings are worn and there were revellers in the hall until very late at night (though I can not blame Starwood for that). I just got a survey from JD Power and will be expressing my sentiments. There are other hotels that offer better value for money in Saskatoon, and I will be staying at them the next time I am in town.

I have been upgraded a few times without asking and I have been squeezed into a room too. I think that you have to take the good and the bad.
