As a 767-load worth of pax piled up behind, attention turned to the green emergency door release buttons. Someone was brave enough to attempt to push it, but they were going to open the door leading back to departures, at which point I pointed out the correct door. Another brave person pushed the emergency button on the door to arrivals. Alarms rang, and we all surged through before BAA became any the wiser.
How does this happen?

Happened to me at T5 last month on a flight from MAN - we were finally spotted by a pilot walking past the other side of the door, and he swiped it open for us. No alarm though, but you do wonder if the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.
