I think there are two separate issues here: procedures and competance level. Privatizing security won't change constitutional issues regarding the policies. I can see arguments both ways as to whether it would decrease the level of overzealousness that is the second part of the problem. And the history of the private companies has also been mixed in that regard. I don't see a strong argument either way.
