I'm having a very hard time with the award search engine. I'm trying to book award flight for TLS-AMS-MSP dec 21 and MSP-AMS-LYS-TLS dec 29/30. I've done searching segment-by-segment and found 'lowest' award levels for all of my segments. But when I try to do the big 'TLS to MSP' r/T I get NOTHING back. So, I can't book them.
Question 1.
If I find 'lowest' priced segments for all legs of a trip, can i call an agent and have them piece together a complete award itinerary for the lowest level cost (60K)?
Question 2.
Is there a way to search so that I can find the whole trip?
Question 3.
I need to buy a ticket that corresponds to the award flight, I can't get the multi-city search function to work on the 'LYS' part..it tells me there are no flights that day. How do I find the fare?
Thanks so much, I'm an expat in France and my grandma passed away. I need to get home with my 2 yr old for the memorial service.

Sheila, long time no FlyerTalk.
My condolences for the loss of your grandmother.
1. Usually, yes.
2. Yes, do a multi-city search.
3. If you want to check the price, you can use KVS, ExpertFlyer or ITA. If you want to actually purchase the same ticket, you have to use a different website because DL.com is too stupid. Travelocity has worked well for me, but there are many similar sites (expedia, kayak, etc.) Some websites (e.g. Orbitz) only work with flights originating in the US.
Good luck to you!
