SPGs rate for a hotel was $699 a night (on SPG.com) and my contracted rate was $279. I work in the private sector. $142 for a hotel in downtown SF looks pretty good to me, especially the St. Regis.
Please read the messages as they are written. The OP wrote that he was "furious" that the rate at the St. Regis was NOT $142.
