My customer service is excellent and the company allows us to make decisions and discretions but there are rules to abide by and terminal 5 is unique in many ways.....
You would have thought after nearly 3 years of operation that people would be used to it by now, but many are not.
Nobody likes change... sometimes its for the better, sometimes its worse.
No matter what flight you are doing at the gate, where it goes or what time it leaves, there is always at least one person missing, that has a bag loaded and causes a delay to the other 100 / 200 / 300 people onboard.
In over the 10 years I have been working at the airport, i have done thousands of flights and it never changes....
all passengers want on time departures and thats what BA is trying to do by streamlining the gate procedures and simplifying functions.
