I tried searching but came up with nothing. I have a friend who's a Miles & More member who is doing his first MR to get Frequent Flyer status. I've been helping him plan his first MR, and mentioned that he might want to redeem an upgrade award if the mileage rate isn't too high.

I searched around on LH's website, and found that I can upgrade all fares avoid V, but failed to come up with an actual chart (aside from the usual *A chart). Is the *A chart the same, or am I just blind?

Also, while I think LH is a fine airline, it seems to me that M&M isn't really that great program if you fly in Y; limited RDM bonuses, high elite tiers, and very few SWUs unless you strongly value lounge access. Am I missing something that makes M&M appealing?

UA earns a 100% RDM bonus for flying on LH as a 1P, so I'm afraid I might be missing something obvious ...
