Keep your eye on the target-- 8900 Delta EQMs. Once you hit that, you're good.

So the option I found involves transferring airlines, as Delta fares out of MSP are not great even with advance purchase (no surprise), but get you to a promotion city with plenty of time to catch the Delta flights that will put you over your target.
