I'd actively disagree with that - the only benefit of the CCR card is access to the CCR, when in T5 or JFK, and even then it's only for you, not a guest. Which is not, in the bigger picture, a siginficant benefit - especially if your flying is on T3 routes which don't benefit from access to the Concorde Room.
Very true, if I made CCR card, I'd hardly use it as I usually travel with a colleague who is currently Silver so better to guest him in GF. Daft thing for me to say, I apologise for my stupidity! As it I have just missed the 2nd GUF2 every year for the last 3 years, and looks like I will just miss it again by the same amount, as I don't have time to do a quick hop to gain the points.
