It seems to me that the noise to signal ratio is rather high the older the threads are.

Often, these old threads have links that are broken.

It seems that this board deals mainly with timely information -- information that becomes less useful when it gets old.

That old information will still be there, but a single new post would not place the entire thread at the top.
