I booked a car with Hertz using Delta miles (in hindsight, it probably wasn't worth it) and now I have an issue.

I am just a few weeks short of age 25, in which case Hertz normally charges $25 per day for an "underage fee". I am booking for 3 days, so it will be $75.

I am part of the Hertz "gold club" which entitles me to rent under 25 without paying a fee, however, when I booked online with Delta, they did not give me the option to add my gold club info to the reservation.

I called Hertz, and they said that there is nothing they can do on their end because once a reservation is booked, in order to add a club number they would have to cancel the reservation and re-book, and that I have to tell Delta to call Hertz and tell hertz the voucher number and my gold club number.

But when I spoke to Delta, they said that they are not authorized to call Hertz to re-book.

If anyone has any inside info on how I can bypass this underage fee, please let me know. Thank you very much.
