You don't mention if you are a Diamond or not but as others have mentioned, Hyatt tends to look at that. I think for a minor inconvenience like the credit card you might ask for 1 - 2K points. I would write into the GP email and explain what happened and why this caused you an inconvenience, what they could have done better and then ask for the points in this range. Do post back and let us know what Hyatt decided. Personally, without further information, this does seem to be a mistake and mistakes are made.

I know there have been CC issues, and I started a post myself.
Mistakes happen, but charging weeks after check out without any notification, when its also clearly wrong, + delaying refund- is in no way acceptable.
I politely requested a minor compensation from the hotel, and despite a follow up mail, they didnt care to even reply.
Intention of this thread is however to document compensations given.
