I have had hit a similar problem (sorry just sold out etc) with trying to book a J for wife YVR/LHR. Yesterday (Sat 27 Nov) I spent many hours off & on thro the day from before 8.00 a.m. to after 8.00 p.m. trying various alternate dates thro 2011 for the YVR/LHR trip. briefy what it comes down to is this - "as is" the www site is misleading at best since clearly what is "offered" is in fact not available. That was confirmed by my lengthy phone discussion with Aeroplan reps late Saturday. I "found" 18 travel options which would have worked for me, they boiled down as follows: (a) only one non stopy flight to LHR was located in enquiries over the entire period Feb-September 2011. (lots seem available from Ottawa and/or Toronto) 5 non stop LHR/YVR were identified. In each case I viewed the itinerary - OK - but on hitting the Book button I get the sorry sold out notice. every time. In one instance YVR/LHR via CCY 22 Aug the www shows (and still does this am) Y to Calgary and J Calgary to to LHR with non stopt retn LHR/YVR on 5 Sept also in J. I tried to book but get same error message. Reps by phone gave me lots of standard explanations but frankly I did not see any as acceptable e.g. rep said the problem was no seats available 22 August YVR to Calgary would I travel the day before and overnight ? I checked all 15 flights YVR to CCY for 22 August and there was not one recorded seat booking on any of the 15 flights. ! I have at least temporarily given upon the J YVR to LHR trip for now - pity since I had planned to purchase a J seat for me to accompany wife.
