I am just curious, from what I know during special occasions for example Honeymoon, if you make it known during check in they would try and do something for you, be it a room upgrade or a bottle of wine.

Anyone have any experience with birthdays?

I saw some where they left cakes in the room, but I was wondering if they upgrade your room because it is your birthday and you are in that city to celebrate it?
