The short abbreviation for the Star Alliance logically would be the two letters "sierra" and "alfa". But, if you post these letters (S and A) together, on their own, the portion of your bullitan board program that filters out naughty words replaces the S with an asterisk, resulting in *A, which is kind of silly.
