Just for the record, I recently had a flight delay that shortened my connection time to 35 minutes. According to the ticket agent, this was still a "legal connection," but even though I made it to ATL right on time (based on the updated estimate), the computer decided that I would not make the connection and rebooked me to a later flight (3 hours later) -- even though I sprinted between A and B to make it on time. It cost me my upgrade, and I was lucky to get on the flight at all. ATL is fantastic when things go as scheduled, but it is a disaster when they don't.

In your case, the fact that the flights are scheduled to arrive and depart from the same concourse does not mean that they will -- last-minute gate changes occur frequently at ATL. I would suggest taking the advice of one of the posters and calling back to speak to another rep. If you still don't get anywhere, just be ready to run -- pack light!

Good luck!

P.S. I say all that not to add stress your already stressful trip, but to point out some issues that you need to be prepared for. However, even if everything goes wrong, it is still possible to make your connection and make it to your destination in time. Happens to me all the time.
