Worth paying for at this hotel, if it works - like many NYC hotels, street noise can make for a poor night's sleep if you're a light sleeper.
OT, I noticed that MGM group properties in Las Vegas are now offering "upgrades" when booking for an additional fee - not sure why I should pay $10 extra to guarantee a non-smoking room at the MGM Grand when any decent booking system should be able to offer this anyway.
