If you want to fly in a premium class on an A380 for (relatively) inexpensive in Asia, EK is the way to do that. They fly a BKK-HKG sector (as a tag to DXB-BKK) where the r/t is something like $500 USD for C/J, $600 for F. Considering that US domestic F fares are often multiples of that, and even the international birds of UA/AA F pale in comparison to an EK F suite (possibly even an EK J seat), that might be the way to go. (Also, until March, you can redeem CO miles for EK J as part of an award- and unlike SQ, EK doesn't block redemptions on A380s. This was how I switched from TG 744 J to EK 388 J.)
