When The View comes up I tend to be polite and simply say that there is a reason their viewership numbers have plummeted to below half of their previous levels and continue to drop. In good company I might venture that it's a shame the show has destroyed Barbara Walters' credibility, through association if nothing else.

My girlfriend has the luxury to be forthright: "The View has convinced me that women should not have the right to vote."

Personally, I've yet to hear a better synopsis. Now if only I could get away with saying it....
