The U.S. continues to have the least pleasant screening of any country we've flown out of, as discussed in
this thread and elsewhere.

- the female screener at LHR I found pretty obnoxious. And I believe you can blame the UK for starting the panic about liquid explosives. I think the story about a liquid bomb plot originated there. Many of my friends over there have been a bit cynical about that since I think it all happened around a time of some other political upheaval and many think it was the UK govt's attempt to create a diversion.
Of course the TSA heard about it very quickly and suddenly we had the water/lquid ban.
