The problem is that if the incoming flight is delayed by 11 minutes or more, the computer will automatically rebook you, even if you sprint to make the flight. If the flight has a lot of standbys, you could easily lose your seat, even if you actually make it.

I would call Delta and question the connection time. They MAY allow you to do it without charge.
