My houseguest has been most intrigued to read this thread. He travels on behalf of his bank to very interesting parts of the world, using a variety of unusual airlines. His views on business class wines (in the past three years) have taken a serious tumble, and only a select few offer the type of top-notch quality of years past even in today's market (SQ, EK and EY were tops in his book). He likes to fly BA when he can, but laments their downgrading of wine quality (in both J and F).
He happened to be doing a last minute trans-tasman flight on QF, unable to get a premium seat and thus had a seat in whY. He was given a small bottle of wine with his lunch. He said it was utterly undrinkable. He asked the crew how much he thought QF had paid for this wine - 1 Australian Dollar? The crew theorized that was possible...in which case my houseguest responded "you've been overcharged!" Fellow passengers howled with laughter, and a nice glass of wine was delivered from J class.
