The smacking sound you hear is me hitting my forehead---when I tried it before I forgot the pesky slash! And there it is on the FAQ UBB cheatsheet I printed out...
The opening bracket should contain quote
The closing bracket should contain /quote
Use square brackets for both
Now I have to look at it to see if it worked.
