You know, we're dealing with companies and agencies known for lying. So I'd really want the ACLU or someone else without an axe to grind to disassemble a randomly picked machine to confirm whatever the manufacturer and DHS says about these machines. I sit and read these confident expositions about what the machines do and do not do and ask myself "Has this person really done what is necessary to state these things confidently as facts?" Or is the person just trying to give me a snow job?
