Regardless, I did note I wasn't charged a resort fee and was given a amenity for each of the 6 nights of the award stay. If you stay frequently at these hotels they note it and treat you well, including waiving fees and giving great upgrades above and beyond a standard suite.
No anger

Sorry but I call BS, why do I feel that if you werent a reg and didnt know if you were gonna be Upgraded in advance you wouldnt take the chance

Monday morning quarterbacking is always 100% correct but try calling what will be before the play happens

no different then if I was UPed say on CO EWR-SFO I can say I have no idea why everyone is squaking I was UPed on an ElCheapo

But for sure if I knew ahead of time that I was guaranteed a nice Upgrade I too would be very willing to pay the resort fee,

no different then if UA will guarantee me that anytime I purchase a W fare theyll Up me using a SWU Id pay the extra for the W, but w/o that no way will I pay 2x the price and hope I just didnt pay double to sit in the same exact Coach seat (E+) since in the end the UP didnt clear

So please dont be such a wiseguy
