I have not been personally affected by anything that anyone has done on FT. So this is not a personal issue with me.
I just believe in holding people accountable for what they post, and allowing editting means that this does not apply.
We have someone on the Qantas board who constantly posts anti-Qantas stuff, and then retracts it by totally changing his post.
Perhaps if there was some way for *everyone* to be able to access the original post, then I would be happy, since this would allow people to be held accountable.
And of course, moderators are always around to ensure that inappropriate posts - those mentioning elite hotline phone numbers, for example - are deleted as soon as possible.
