Dave, I'm afraid you're alone on this. The ability to edit our posts is an important feature both within the first 10 minutes to correct typos, as well as in the future to correct and clarify misinformation.
Besides, even if FlyerTalk did want to implement a 10-minute rule, I don't think the software supports it.
I'm not sure if you were particularly embarrassed by something a particular poster has done, but can I suggest that you simply don't respond to him/her in the future at all? Trolls will find another way to work around the system no matter what we do, and it's often better just to keep it obvious that trolls are trolls so that people can take that into account when reading posts.
