Per the RFP specifications from the original WBI bid process, the machines are ALL required to have the ability to be placed in "training" mode. When in said mode, they are capable of saving the images generated. Supposedly, only certain people have access to said mode, but, per the RFP, several of those personnel positions do exist at the actual airport level.

The TSA Blog tries to get around this by saying that all images they have produced are images provided by the device manufacturers and that they do not have access to any other images to share.
