Airlines have always been notorious for having the most heavily edited form of movies. That made a lot of sense when the movies were displayed on a large monitor for the whole plane and even made some sense when they were on a loop with a few channels to choose from and you had to flip through to choose. With modern IFEs it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but it's not an industry known for its agility when it comes to dealing with changes like this.
