Haha, that's one of the things we say about IHG, they love acronyms.
Some of the ones i've used here are:
IDAVR: Advance Purchase Rate. Used to have to book it 14 days in advance but now we can change the number of days to a minimum of 2. Not sure if the max has changed or not.
IGCOR: used to be called Rack, now called best flexible. It's the highest regular rate. There are bonus rates that are higher but you're paying extra for something.
TPI: Third Party Intermediary. Any site that acts as a middleman between the guest and the hotel. Often they get deeply discounted rates since they bring a LOT of business in (sites like expedia and orbitz for example).
Fence: a condition that must be met for a rate to be booked, like a 14 day advance purchase requirement or something as easy as needing to be a member of AAA.
PMS: Property Management System. The front desk system used for making reservation, checking in guests, checking out guests, etc.
Holidex: The central reservation system (or CRS) that links between all IHG properties. It's a big old dinosaur, but it mostly gets the job done.
And yes, I manage a HIEX.
