And you can get a front desk agent to add your PC# to the res but if the rate code won't generate points then there's really no point as it won't count as a stay either.
Think I will try calling the hotel directly to see if they have availability and book that way if they do. If not then I will book via an external website and take the risk of not earning points. As I am an infrequent leisure traveller then I am not really chasing points, it is more about this particular HIEX being perfect for my trip.
Found an ever so slightly better rate via my bank's (RBS) travel website so may go that way rather than the original external website I found availability on.
On a side note, both websites offer cancellation, although no changes, until the day of the stay so does that point to the rate being one that offers PC points rather than say a rate that offers no cancellation?
