I second the SFO shower facilities outside secuirty in the international terminal. Costs about $11. Also, in ORD there is a health club at the Hilton, and if you have a HHonors card, the price is discounted (can't remember, but about $10 or less). Both have towels available.

But you need time between flights. I'd say 2 hours minimum.
