"most taxi and van drivers are not familiar" with the hotel address so they can make more money. It is very common in China, Vietnam, & Thailand (except Singapore, Japan, taiwan or Hongkong).
It does not cost too much but it wastes of time.
Even I speak Chinese & know the road, if I forget to pay attention they will make a quick circle to make more money.
