My dad was required to get a TWIC by DHS even though his job has virtually nothing to do with transporation, but that's another story. So he decided to use it at a DTW checkpoint couple years back since he was told he could by the people who gave it to him. The TDC had no idea what it was and demanded a drivers license, which is so, "Secure" compared to the TWIC. My dad does not like any kind of confrontation so he quickly whipped out his license. Good luck if you plan on using this for ID at the checkpoint. I'd imagine they rarely see TWIC's where as they may at least see a NEXUS once in awhile. If you get one please report your experiences.
