I've seen a similar 'view' in smoking lounges which don't have good ventilation (that is, small children don't get sucked into the vents if they stand within 10 feet). Most lounges I've smoked in recently have great ventilation and smoke disappears almost immediately (though the smell lingers disgustingly, even for us smokers).
