I'm doing BOS-SLC-DEN RT because the extra miles via SLC (vs somewhere that wasn't a 400 mile backtrack) just puts me over the top of the year I booked it on delta.com. Now hopefully there won't be any irrops that throws me through another hub (although if I am stuck in SLC for a day I do have a friend at Alta).
Just remember to save your BPs and you can request original routing credit.
