Yes/No - if it is emailed to you, it opens a website to display it. Sometimes it will require a refresh. If you use the iPhone app, it loads the boarding pass when you check-in and you don't need an internet connection.

i have noticed that with these mobile boarding passes, sometimes they don't show zone number, so theoretically, you could board in zone 1 if you want...
If you are using the iPhone App, it is inside the app and does not get emailed to you. If you check-in from something other than the app it gets emailed to you.
The app is the easier way to go in my experience.
