A few weeks ago (Oct 26 or 27), my aunt flew out of ATL (South Terminal). She said she didn't expct to feel so violated by the naked scanners, but she did, 'because there were two men standing right there looking at me naked'. I pushed her on the issue, saying that you couldn't see the TSOs, they were in a hidden room.

Not the case in ATL, apparently.

She said that the x-ray images were showing up on a computer screen in the aisle right next to the scanner. Thre were two male TSOs standing right next to her were evaluating the images.

My aunt said that she saw her own image. There was a small circle blurring her pubic region. I showed her the two common TSA images (the lady and the man) and she said that the images the TSOs were looking at was much more clear and detailed than those images.

I asked her if the monitors were there when she flew yesterday, and she said she was in too much of a hurry to notice. She had planned to opt out if she was selected, (because the naked scanner bothered her so much) but she lucked out and was not randomly selected.

WTH is going on? I've never heard anyone else say anything like this. But I know she's not lying, and she knows what her own body looks like... Can it be that the busiest terminal of a major airport has or had a monitor right next to the naked scanners and no one called the media?
