By "piracy" are we talking about armed officers confiscating mp3 players or something? In Malaysia they actually have an entire police force devoted to movie piracy. When I used to live there these "piracy police" non-uniformed officers thoroughly searched my entire home due to the fact that my next door neighbor (whom I had seen but never met) was suspected of being one of those guys who sells fake Chinese DVDs on the street. I have to say though that, although they were violating my privacy, they were quite a bit nicer than most LEOs or federal agents I have met in the US. In fact I have consistently found this in other countries, including communist ones. In the US LEOs tend to be grown up schoolyard bullies (at least the males). In other countries they are quite often just relatively normal people. Still more aholish than the average citizen proabably but way nicer than US LEOs. I'm not sure why that is.
Needless to say, these ATSOs would bring us one step closer to the full-on police state that the majority of Americans seem to want. Remember that police states have historically been some of the safest places in the world. What we really need is a new country that really is free, like this one used to be when it was created.
