I think there is plenty of room for additional international brands in the Nordic countries. The only large local chain appears to be Scandic, which is mostly like a slightly upscale Motel 6. Why leave the entire market to hotels branded as Radissons?

Would it be importing US domestic HGIs, and rebranding them with a bit of Scandic flair? I guess the question is how an outsider would expect to be able to encroach on the dominant local providers.
In a way your (miserable) French Accor hotels have more in common with the Scandinavian region hotel - simple restaurants, all-night shops, basic design, etc.
