I give Pistole credit for taking the time to call and apologize.

I'd feel better if Pistole would apologize to the rest of us, both those who fly and must navigate the checkpoint insanity, and those who have stopped flying because of it.

Then I'd like for him to demonstrate his sincerity by making the checkpoints more in line with the values we hold as Americans. We should not be treated as "terrorist unless proven otherwise."
In the words of most parents: "If you were sorry you wouldn't have done it."

Total PR move. I don't for one moment see an ounce of sincerity here. Where was the apology when he first found out it happened?
