I get this part. As a policy, we really don't try and interfere with the choices that members make when accessing FlyerTalk. We have and always will focus on the behavior of certain members rather than the broad reach of all members. At one time I did some research regarding an unruly member (well, former member) and left off at compiling a list of 230 different proxies and realized that it was a sieve for us to try and manage without doing harm for others. In conversations with other bulletin board operators over the years, I learned there were many remedies among boards on how to monitor these things including not accepting registration emails from anon addresses like yahoo and hotmail, etc. as they are often used to mask identities. As a result, most don't do anything more than what we do and that is to spend time among the community and with members identifying the abusers to our members and topics and address them one-on-one is terms of masking rather than try ot manage something that no one has a single solution for.
