Really? Drove hybrid car 18 miles and got charged $14 fuel surcharge
This is not physically possible. I picked up a car in Boise, went to a sales meeting, stayed the night, and returned it at 6:00AM the next morning. Late for a flight, I grabbed my reciept and went. Only after going through security did I look at my reciept.
$77.82 for a fourteen hour rental. I requested the lowest level car and was given a hybrid. So my reciept shows 18 miles driven on a hybrid and $13.99 in a fuel surcharge. In addition to the minimum $52/daily charge (again, this Boise, really?) and taxes. Total for 14 hours and 18 miles: $77.82.
Is this type of price gouging really standard practice at Avis?
